Title: Prosper Loan Volume wayyyyyyy Down
Post by: priuspilot on May 23, 2013, 06:43:21 PM
In a surprise twist, the trailing 30-day amount funded is between $8-9mil. That's a far cry from last month... Wonder what's up..

prius,

I was just looking at this yesterday.  May 1-May 23 is at $19.6MM; which means it should end up at $25-$27MM for the month.  Where are you seeing $8-$9Mil?

Nickel Steamroller... Is that site no longer accurate? Right now it's listing $8.9mil for the past 30 days

I think that changes in the Prosper API make Nickel Steam Roller inaccurate. I encountered the same thing when I was using it the other day.

Who's got the reliable info now?

I use the API.

Unfortunately I dont believe prosper-stats.com is being updated any more.

You can always use the Prosper site:  http://www.prosper.com/invest/performance.aspx

I confirmed that with Nickel Steamroller. The stats on his home page are no longer updating for Prosper since they turned off the old API. He said he will update it at some point but I always get my numbers from the official Prosper page mentioned above. And yes, they are on target for at least $25M this month - very impressive.

Very impressive indeed!

With 12% annual return as a real possibility, P2P lending is now a very compelling asset class versus US equities for many institutional investors.

The change in the API caused the data on prosper-stats.com to go out of date as well.  I am working on updating the site, but I don't have a lot of free time right now so I probably won't be done updating the site for another few weeks.

That would be great, Rocco., having a third party site from which to get prosper data is a tremendous resource to the community.

I would like to reiterate encouragement to Rocco. I really hope you can find the time to update the site - many Prosper investors (myself included) have come to rely on it.

I have been rewriting the backend of prosper-stats.com to better align with the new API data model but I don't see this being finished any time soon.  So instead of of letting the website completely languish I have written some temporary code that shoves the new API data into the old format (the data doesn't match up perfectly, so it is a best effort conversion).  This will keep the data updated until I have time to finish up the larger rewrite.  The site should be showing current data again now and automatically updating itself daily.

Impressive numbers but worthless for those unable to find new loans to invest in. I have put in no new money in over 6 months and I'm still piling cash up that I have to take out of prosper and use elsewhere.  I really liked prosper, but they are quickly losing my business.
