Investors - LC / 0x Project future of asset trading?
« on: December 09, 2017, 02:53:49 AM »
Has anyone look at the 0x (https://0xproject.com/) would be interesting if LendingClub came up with a way to trade their notes on a token market instead of folioFN which is horrendous.

Investors - LC / IEG Holdings Tender Offer?
« on: August 02, 2017, 04:47:31 AM »
I got a notice today from my brokerage saying that a company called IEG Holdings was tendering an offer to exchange 4 shares of IEG stock per share of LC for up to ~10% of the outstanding LC shares.

IEG runs a scummy looking business called "Mr. Amazing Loans".  Is this for real because it looks like the worst deal ever who in their right mind would agree to it?

Investors - LC / Auto Invest Allocations Conflicting with Filter
« on: April 12, 2016, 09:19:25 PM »
Is there any way to use auto invest with just a filter and not specify a grade allocation?  I have a problem where there are loans that fit my filter but they would put the portfolio outside of the allocation % I have set for the various loan grades so instead it lets money build up in the account.  Is there any way to tell it to just buy whatever fits the filter and disregard the grade % so I don't end up with a bunch of cash sitting there?

Has anyone tried any of the budding real estate investment platforms that are starting to be offered to small investors under the new Reg A rules that allow them to crowd source investments?  A few that I've seen are

FundRise
GroundFloor
RealtyShares

Curious on peoples experience with any of them.  FundRise supposedly has a waiting list but they also had some sordid affair with their CFO recently where he accused the company of fraud and they accused him of extortion.  I checked out GroundFloor a while back and it seemed dead.  Just saw an ad for Realty shares when researching the other two.

Investors - LC / "Account was sold to a third party debt buyer"
« on: October 25, 2015, 04:03:36 PM »
The phrase "Account was sold to a third party debt buyer" appears as the last entry of the collection log on one of my charged off loans.  I don't see anywhere in the loans payment history though where I received any payments due to them selling the collection rights to a third party.  Is LC keeping the money for themselves or am I just not looking in the right place?

Investors - LC / What's up with this WebBank thing?
« on: October 01, 2014, 02:29:59 PM »
Got an email from LC today about how they are changing to an issuance model where the Note and the Loan are issued a few days apart.

http://kb.lendingclub.com/siteupdates/articles/Site_Updates/Changes-to-the-way-in-which-Notes-are-Issued

Does anyone understand what this relationship with WebBank is about?  The explanation given for the change by LC is pretty Opaque, "The change to the Note issuance process was made to ensure our business remains robust in a changing environment."  And it seems to me to amount to LC paying a fee to WebBank for issuing a loan that comes out of the investors pocket in the form of a few days of lost interest.  What benefit do LC or the investors get though by adding a middle man to the whole process?

I recently started using the Automated Investing feature (formerly PRIME) is there an easy way to assign all loans bought through prime to a portfolio?  I'd like to be able to easily compare their performance to the ones I had been picking manually.

General P2P Lending Discussion / BitCoin P2P Lending
« on: August 10, 2013, 09:07:19 PM »
Has anyone looked into the BitCoin P2P sites that have been popping up?  Here are a few I found while Goggling.  Seems like it could be an interesting frontier to investigate given that LendingClub has gone main stream and it is hard to get loans on there any more.

Investors - LC / Moving Individual Notes Between Portfolios
« on: July 20, 2013, 02:59:20 PM »
Is there a way to move a single note from one portfolio to another on the LC website?  All I see is the ability to merge two portfolios.

Investors - LC / Lending Club API?
« on: July 16, 2013, 09:23:00 PM »
I've seen reference to Lending Club having an API that has been, "in testing" for over a year now most recently Peter mentioned it in his March post, "Lending Club Loans Being Snapped up Quickly"  It seems at the rate loans are being funded these days a lot of investors have to be using automation yet I can't find anything about it on LC's site.  Does anyone have experience using this mythical API or have any insight on how to get information about how to use it?  I'm a computer scientist so I can find my own way given documentation.

Investing - General (not P2P) / Bit Coin as an Investment?
« on: March 31, 2013, 10:17:04 PM »

The price of bit coin has been on a run lately (~$74 -> $94 in the past couple weeks alone) and with all the stupid financial things going on in the world like the deposit confiscations in Cyprus one might think this would provide fuel for that trend to continue.  Thoughts?

Investors - LC / How to Calculate Expected Monthly Interest
« on: March 11, 2013, 11:52:45 PM »
Is there is straight forward way to calculate Expected Monthly Interest?  There is an Expected Monthly Payments field on the Portfolio page but I'd like to know how much of that is Interest vs. Principle.  Is it possible to use the portfolios weighted average APR to calculate that?

Investors - LC / The Collection log
« on: January 11, 2013, 08:12:17 PM »
I have a couple questions about the collection log for late notes.

1. How promptly does the collection log update, for example loan ID 2304924 has notes in the collection log dated 1/9 but the loan wasn't marked as "In Grace Period" until today 1/11.  I assumed a loan goes into grace period as soon as the payment fails is that not true?

2. Can I see the collection logs for notes I've sold on FolioFN or never invested in to begin with?

Investors - LC / Reasonable Way to Price In Grace Period Notes?
« on: January 09, 2013, 08:18:48 PM »
I have a note that is listed as "In Grace Period" and On Payment Plan with 0 payments so far.  What is a reasonable way to price that loan for sale on FolioFN?  Should I even bother to try selling it or hope the payment plan works out?
