Investors - LC / Payment History Incomplete?
« on: February 05, 2015, 04:27:26 PM »
I downloaded the payment history file from here (All Payments):

http://additionalstatistics.lendingclub.com/

I see approx 2.5MM rows of payment history with 103K unique loan ids present.  I don't understand why there are approx 400K unique notes in LC's historical statistics files but yet only 103K notes in the payment history?  Does anyone know why this is the case?  Am I missing something here?

Investors - LC / Funded Amount?
« on: November 28, 2014, 06:48:28 PM »
I am trying to understand how newly listed notes could have the majority of the loan fully funded immediately after being listed?  I poll the API every second  (abiding by the 1 second rule) until new notes are listed.  However, many of the notes are significantly funded before doing any note selection/processing.  Is there some sort of "pre" funding that happens before being listed?  Or is it that the 1 second between API calls allows the notes to be funded by others before I have a chance?

For example, today at 14:00:15 PST, the following notes (I added funding percent column) were downloaded after a 1 second interval polling of the API:

Investors - LC / Download notes owned no longer works?
« on: July 10, 2014, 05:54:05 PM »
Used to be you could download the notes you already own using the following link:

https://www.lendingclub.com/account/notesRawData.action

Anyone know of a way to get a list of the notes you currently own?  Or is this feature dead?

Investors - LC / Purpose?
« on: December 30, 2013, 08:56:46 PM »
Can anyone tell me what the the possible values are for purpose in the current browseNotes csv file?  The LC data dictionary is out of date/incorrect.  The purpose does not always match those given in the historical database file.  For example:

browseNotes - HistoricalNotes
--------------------------------------
home buying -> house
business -> small business
car financing -> car

The data dictionary says these are the possible browseNotes purposes (but these are for historical):
DEBT_CONSOLIDATION, MEDICAL, HOME_IMPROVEMENT, RENEWABLE_ENERGY, SMALL_BUSINESS, WEDDING, VACATION, MOVING, HOUSE, CAR, MAJOR_PURCHASE, OTHER

Peer Lending Server / Version 4.7 Released
« on: December 04, 2013, 07:55:09 PM »
Peer Lending Server version 4.7 is now available for download at http://peerlendingserver.com/download.  This version is a major update including a new backend database.  Unfortunately, it does require a full download, and can not be upgraded within your current version.  In addition, the current version 4.6 has been impacted by what appears to be a change in Lending Club policy.  It appears that they now limit the number of consecutive note file downloads causing list detection to fail.  Version 4.7 avoids this issue by using javascript browser refreshes for faster and more efficient note list detection.  Therefore, 4.6 will be decommissioned shortly to prevent this issue from occurring.

I have chosen to release 4.7 earlier than expected to fix this issue.  Version v4.7 does include the ability to run saved filters on Lending Club's web site.  This provides very fast filter and order execution.  More information and documentation regarding this release in the next few days..

Also, you can still use 4.6 for a brief period of time if you disable "note count monitoring on first run" from within the scheduler window.  Because v4.6 downloaded the notes file repeatedly (which happens to be about the same size as their web page) and LC disabled that capability (I think), PLS will fail to download the latest notes file and stop execution.

Peer Lending Server / Insufficient Funds
« on: November 09, 2013, 10:49:21 AM »
Due to  LC's recent changes in the web interface, the available cash displayed in the service log is correct.  However, it is not being represented correctly in the PLS code.  Therefore, the logic to stop reaching insufficent funds (causing a failed order) is not working properly.  I have already corrected the issue in the next release and will be releasing in the next day or so.  Again, this only affects accounts where an order reaches insufficient funds.

The cause behind this issue is because there are 2 places now in the account summary page where the available cash is listed.  The screen scrape got both instead of just one which caused the check to fail.  I have updated the code to only grab the first (one) entry.

The next release will also contain a monitor/ping for batch listing to execute PLS when listing is detected.  This will be an option when scheduling the service.

Investors - LC / Fields removed from notes file
« on: November 07, 2013, 08:37:01 AM »
Anyone notice the changes to the version 6 browseNotes file:

emp_status column
mths_since_recent_loan_delinq
pub_rec_gt_100
mths_since_oldest_il_open

Well, i just looked to see if these changes were reflected in the versioning documentation and found this link:

http://kb.lendingclub.com/investor/articles/Investor/Updates-to-Downloadable-Data-effective-November-6-2013/?l=en_US&c=Investor%3AUpdates&fs=Search&pn=1

It doesn't give a post date so not sure how much of heads up we were given.  Also, no indication of these fields being removed in the file version history:

Investors - LC / Adjusted Net Annualized Return
« on: November 06, 2013, 05:27:20 PM »
I am not sure if anyone has seen this yet or not but LC now has Adjusted Net Annualized Return on their home page.  Is this new?  Any thoughts on it?  My NAR went from 17.32% to ANAR of 15.22%.

Peer Lending Server / New Release: Peer Lending Server 4.0
« on: October 20, 2013, 01:37:09 PM »
Peer Lending Server 4.0 is now available.  This release contains the following enhancements and updates:

Automatically Calculates XIRR:  PLS automatically downloads all of your monthly PDF statements, converts to text, and extracts your deposits, withdrawals and ending balance.  These transactions are used to calculate your account XIRR value.  Please note this is experimental and tested only on a small number of accounts.

Portfolio Analysis: Shows current state of all notes you own including grace period.  Each note also includes the number of days left before entering the next state such as going from grace period to late 16-30 days.  This is great for people who sell on the secondary market.  In addition, statistical analysis is also provided for notes.  This feature is also under development.

Lending Club Order Pages:  Non-API accounts now include an additional tab in the service log containing all HTML responses for order HTTP GET requests.  This provides record of action of LC response to each PLS HTTP request.

Consecutive Service Execution:  Scheduled service can now be run multiple times successively with a defined wait time.  This allows the capture of notes added to the loan pool after the first service execution

Additional Safe Guards: Filter set to maximum of 10% of loan pool.  This is in addition to the configuration maximum amount of notes per order parameter.  This prevents potential filter mis-configuration leading to unexpected orders.

Documentation will be updated as time permits.

Regards,
SL

Investors - LC / FolioFN Sell All In-Grace-Period Loans
« on: September 16, 2013, 04:41:15 PM »
I just read this article from lendingmemo.com regarding how the author avoids defaults by selling in-grace-period loans:

http://www.lendingmemo.com/lending-club-foliofn/

Based on the article, it suggests that it is a good idea to discount all in-grace-period loans at a suggested discount of 10% (give or take).  Does anyone have experience with this strategy?  Perhaps any data that supports the recommendation?

I have very little experience with foliofn, but seems on the surface statistically that it makes sense.  I could potentially automate this type of strategy but not sure if it is worth the effort.

Thanks,
SL

Peer Lending Server / Version 3.4 Released
« on: September 13, 2013, 09:34:32 PM »
New Peer Lending Server 3.4 Released:

Interest Rate Credit Risk Spread: New in version 3.4, you can now select loans based on potential return on investment expressed as the difference between the borrower’s annualized interest rate and expected default rate.  The spread represents potential return relative to risk.  Lending Club does not provide expected default rates for historical loans.   We have statistically generated an expected default rate for all historical and in-funding loans. Historical analysis can also be used to see portfolio performance based on these values.  We also added a few more preset filters which use the interest rate credit risk spread.  Simply choose a preset and start using the pre-configured filter in to select loans.

New Tabs in Browse Notes Window: Based on user feedback, we have added additional tabs in the browse notes window to show filtered notes excluding notes you already own, filtered notes you already own.

Complete Change Log:

Added hide columns option to configuration window
Added minute delay option between notes downloads
Added 3 new tabs to browse window to show filtered notes already owned
Changed status text to include SA modelling
Obtain notes owned with every service start even if notes delay has not expired
Added PLS expected default rate to historical loans using PLS statistical models.  Lending Club does not provide its expected default rate in its historical database.
Added PLS expected default rate to in-funding loans
Added new AI filter of interest rate and credit risk spread
Disabled filter window from opening if analytics is running
Fixed historical analytics error when filtering fields only found in current notes database (exp_default_rate,service_fee_rate, etc)
Automated preset filter creation using saved filters
Added survival probability and rate-risk-spread to analytics
Added additional consistency and error checking

Peer Lending Server / Peer Lending Server (New Lending Club Software)
« on: September 06, 2013, 02:41:26 PM »
Hello,

Just wanted to let everyone know that a new software appliance is available that performs the following functions:

* Completely automates LC orders (Both API and screen scrape supported).  Now you can execute orders quickly before prime loans are funded.
* Provides easy to use artificial intelligence (Both classification and Survival Analysis for mature and non-mature notes learning).  AI is completely optional
* Historical analytics to backtest filters with instantaneous and projected ROI using forward looking loss curves (point in time probability)
* Up to 10 filters can be configured
* Includes macro economic data to improve machine learning
* No sharing your password with a 3rd party.  Software is installed locally on your own computer.

Check out a brief demo video at:

http://peerlendingserver.com/software/peer-lending-server-videos

I am specifically looking for a small group of people who would like to give it a try for free to provide feedback and feature requests.  I will give a least a free 1 year license if and when the software is sold to the public (based on interest).  If you are interested, please visit the download page and follow the instructions:

Investors - LC / Lending Club Automation Server Beta
« on: May 16, 2013, 03:30:40 PM »
I have been working on software to automate loan selection and order submission.  I am looking for a few people to help me beta test the software.  If you are interested, please PM me.  Here is a summary:

Lending Club Automation Server is a virtual appliance that automates loan selection and order completion for lending club loans.  LCAS runs on Windows, Mac or Linux inside Oracle’s VirtualBox software.  LCAS simplifies loan selection by enabling filters across all current fields, and providing statistical classification to improve confidence.   The process of creating the LC order and submission is automated.  In addition, the entire process can be scheduled to run at specified times.
