Investors - LC / Re: New Loan Status?

To answer your questions in order, yes, yes, and no (though I would have been amused if he reached out to me).

You know those two perfect-credit 20% PRIME notes I picked up? One of them sold on the market at +7%. Nice return considering that I've only held it for few weeks. My cash balance has been a bit high as of late, so I decided it might be time to test out Interest Radar's autobuy feature with a filter that's even more strict than what I have on Prime. So far I've had a dozen hits and a few even got funded, but it's nowhere near enough volume to make an investment portfolio of "reasonable" size. I figure, if I'm holding onto stellar-quality 20%-ish notes that often flip at +7%, I'm not doing too bad.

Selling a freshly issued note for 7% premium. Wish I could do that

I don't see how they are going to be able to properly underwrite these loans. Are both the owner and the business going to be held liable? What if you have multiple partners or a silent investor?

I would think if you were running a company where the sole purpose of the company was to make investments you could just elect mark-to-market and avoid all the headache. That would be a lot different that running an advisory firm though.

Investors - LC / Calculating future performance

I know if you use Bluevestment, Peercube, you can see how certain strategies have performed in the past. Like with Peter's filters or a variation of. I assume with those your defaults are written down to $0.

Has anyone ever tried to guesstimate what your returns would be if you were to liquidate the bad notes? i.e. sell all notes at 40% discount that go late outside of IGP

Investors - LC / liquidity

Is all the liquidity at the $25 notes? I have been trading mostly in $25 increments and want to go to some bigger notes but didn't know if they have the same liquidity

I could be wrong here but I would think another advantage of the S-corp would be to elect mark to market for the s-corp which should make the taxes much easier.

Foliofn - LC / late note goes current
« on: February 25, 2014, 07:26:59 PM »
1. I bought a late note on 2/24/14
2. I put in a sell order in on 2/24/14
3. It goes current and a payment posts 20 days late on 2/25/14
4. Somebody got a current note at a really good price.

Does folio only cancel sell orders when payments are "scheduled"?
How can I avoid this in the future?

Investors - LC / 1 investor fully funded
« on: February 25, 2014, 10:59:25 AM »
I am a borrower as well as an investor. I applied for a $8800 loan last night. It is a sub 8% loan. One investor scooped the whole this morning. I know there are some big lenders out there, but I thought they didn't like the low interest rate loans?

« on: February 11, 2014, 08:26:55 AM »
If they are using futures I would think there would be a drag from rolling. Eventually they would have to reverse split the ETF like what was done with UNG and what is done with UVXY. I don't have any experience trading them long term.

Just a thought: What about electing marked to market?

Still 2 notes sitting there from yesterday at 16% and 17% discount. The "whale" must not like those.
