Interest Radar / Current Listings
« on: March 13, 2013, 07:16:05 PM »
The current listings checkbox is not saving and is defaulting to $25 despite saving it to another amount.  I have to go into each of my saved searches manually to see if there are any loans available.  IS this a bug or default?

There were over 500 repeat borrowers in my range last year.  Nearly 40 per month.  In the last 2 months there has been 6.  I wonder if they have changed any requirements besides that change last year.

still very slow for repeat borrowers.  I setup an automatic investment to see if I am missing any loans that fit my criteria.

On the positive side, it has me spending time on lendstats researching other lesser known, low default loan criteria.

Might just be the time of year.  My criteria is pretty tight.  I was finding 3 to 4 per day before prosper adjusted their settings.  It went to 1-2 per day.  Now I am finding maybe 3 per week.

It sure seemed like the repeat borrowers dried up in Dec.  Either that or more people have them on autoinvest.

My idle money is growing faster than I can invest it.

Any thoughts?

I'm not an accountant or a lawyer, but I imagine you would have to treat it like any other business to escape the scrutiny of the IRS.  Separate bank account, phone numbers, tax filing etc etc.  It hurts when they decide its a hobby.  Many real estate investors learn that the hard way.

With all the issues with using Folio, why have prosper and lending club not switched to another platform?

Even to the point where the big producers are buying some microbrews to stay ahead of the game.

Can't go wrong with Fat Tire.  Its the first beer that made realize that there are far better choices than just Coors or Budweiser.

About 5 years I was out in Vegas.  I asked for a beer, the first one offered was Fat Tire.  Then I new that New Belgium had come into their own.

Glenn.  Gotta say, those changes are a huge improvement.  I think it was mentioned on the blog, but it adds a level of sophistication to the site.  Hopefully it helps draw in more investors and borrowers alike.

Whats everyone's favorite beer out there.   Here in Colorado we have over 105 Microbreweries with 1000's of beers to choose from.

MY favorite is 90 Shilling made by Odell's out of Fort Collins, CO.  Its a amber ale that goes well with most meaty meals.

Peter,  The same is true for me.  I did not even know it was a featured note until the 3.25% showed on my detail page.

I have 3 loan filters setup currently.  One for featured plus all my other requirements, one with just my requirements, and one with bare minimum 30+ payments.  I do the last just to see how many repeat borrowers are out there at D or lower.

I have only seen 1 featured borrower with 30+ payments history and s/he has so many other negative factors I couldn't even try to bid on it.

I agree Peter.  It seems they have dropped the ball on Folio.

kylew, you make a good point.  They may not be statistically significant.  1 more or less default could easily change the return. Unfortunately with a limited number of loans, its all I have to go by.

I stand corrected on the searching for featured loans.  I can setup a saved search for featured loans with my search criteria.  Pretty easy to do.

I still think a little indication that the note is featured may be helpful.
