Introductions / Joined the Forum

I've been investing in Lending Club for the past four months. I decided to join after the leadership crisis because the company had their ethics moment and would come out the other side with a stronger sense of providing a good product. I've seen it before and had good luck in the equity market once the initial fervor dies down.

I reached the point where I felt some confidence in the primary and secondary markets and wanted to automate my purchase strategy. I'm an okay Python programmer and was able to construct the code necessary to download and analyze loans on the secondary market. I found this forum with a Google search which provided some guidance regarding the API to make purchases. In spending some time on the forum, I have been impressed with the analysis and clarity of some people who are very regular posters.

I hope to add in my own experiences and help those new to the Lending Club platform on the forums here.

I have a new D2 loan that is now IGP. I'm surprised there wasn't even one payment. I don't have a good feeling the loan will ever make a payment, y'know?

Have you considered using Folio's "Download Search Results" link https://www.lendingclub.com/foliofn/notesRawData.action?
This link is more real-time; all Folio notes matching your search criteria will be included.  No noticeable delays.
My Folio program runs every 2-hr.

When you download this, do you sometimes get a corrupted file?

I'm getting a bad download about 1 out of 10 tries.  A chunk of characters missing, resulting in malformed CSV, or a bunch of nulls in the file in place of some characters.  Unusual.


That's about the same rate I am getting an error. I typically try again in ten minutes and every day except once, it worked the second time.
