Prosper Bankruptcy- Strange timing?
« on: July 24, 2013, 08:38:10 AM »
Hi All,
I am still new to this and am wondering if the following bankruptcy notification is strange:

"The borrower filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on Mar-19-2009, and received a discharge on Feb-05- 2010. As a result, the debt has been discharged, and your loan balance has been reduced to $0.00. There is no possibility of receiving any further recoveries on this loan"

My question is if the borrower filed in Mar 2009 and received a discharge in Feb 2010 why would a loan originated yesterday be included in the charge offs?

Thanks

Doesn't sound right at all.  The loan origination date is July 2013, right?

I spoke to Prosper and they agree something is fishy and suspect there was some sort of typo when the data was entered. They are going to look into it and try to resolve it within a week or so
