Indeed.  I mentioned this earlier today, too.

http://www.lendacademy.com/forum/index.php?topic=1620.0

LC also added a loan counter in the top right corner of the browse notes page that displays the number of loans listed in the past week.  Perhaps they are hoping this will help counter some of the perception of limited loan availability.

We'll see if it's a trailing 7 days, 168 hours, or previous week ending xx-xx-xxxx type of counter.

I'm also seeing a new red line that shadows the page frames.  FREAKING SWEET!

Well, trailing 168 hours is definitely out.

You guys are terrible. :)

Just think of the hundreds of man-hours that goes into adding a red line!

They finally added "PT" to the four posting times on the message that's displayed if your filter comes up with nothing.  I wonder how many new investors might have seen that and got up at 6 eastern for nothing.

I would rather see  # of loans "issued" -- rather than "listed" -- in the past week.

Now the counter shows 4467, down from 4494.  Maybe it is accounting for ones that do not issue.  It also seems like trailing 7 days is out, too.

Speaking of the counter, isn't it the ugliest counter you've ever seen?       :D

It's definitely ugly and ridiculously out of place.  But I remember some of the web site hit counters from the early 90's that were far more ugly.  They were also just as pointless.  Why does it matter to Joe Investor how many loans were listed in the past week when he got 5-10?  That's what matters to him.  A plain text counter would have served the same purpose.  I see no reason to attract attention to a number that has so little bearing on one's own account.  This is similar to the bit on a game show where they say "Here's what you DIDN'T win..." A chart showing volume over time I can see being mildly more useful.

One of the ugliest counters I've seen in the non-web world has got to be the old McDonald's "xx Billion Served" on the signs.  The clip-on numbers' font never matched, sometimes the color was different, and the numbers were usually so weathered that they ended up looking old.  You don't see many of those these days.

This counter is most likely a part of pre-IPO narratives, not for current LC notes lenders. ;)
