I use OS X, Windows 7, and Ubuntu. I prefer OS X for personal and Linux for business.

I use OS X, without Excel which means there's a lot I can't do.

No Excel?  If your employer participates in MS volume licensing, you can get MS Office for $10 through their HUP (Home User Program):
http://www.microsofthup.com.

You must enter your company email to qualify; some school & military emails might also work for this deal.

Good luck.

I've been fighting the virtual machine craze for the better part of two decades.   I still prefer a dual boot system.

I boot CentOS for everything that isn't financial and boot Windows 7 for Quicken.

I'll probably cave - embrace VM - when I do my next personal hardware refresh.

Why do you prefer Linux/Ubuntu for business?

Win 10, guess plenty here are turned off by the issues with 8 or any initial issues with 10.

Other than the fact that Microsoft it trying to cram it down my throat? I react negatively to that.
I installed Win 10 update killers on my PC's.
I've read it's a very decent OS, but there are privacy issues. I understand it sends a lot of stuff about you home to the mother ship.
You Tube has tons of videos (not always substantiated of course) on the privacy perils of Win 10.
Seems Microsoft figures if Google can exploit your search queries then we have access to even more.
Win 7 doesn't go EOL for about another 2 years so I'm staying with it as long as I can.

Side note: (would be funny but you be the judge).
A few days ago I searched Amazon for "toasters"; as the ones I'd give away to folks buying my Folio notes LOL.
Now there is virtually nowhere I can visit on the net that doesn't present me with a new opportunity to buy all manner of toasters.
Every morning I log into Facebook and there they are ...toasters...

I miss the days where Amazon tried to figure out what else I wanted to buy.  Like you, I bought a trash can on Amazon a few weeks ago.  Yahoo, Facebook, et. al. keep giving me ads for that same trash can.  I suppose you cannot have too many trash cans or toasters.

Guess I do not care if big brother wants to check me out surfing fantasy football, football site I write for and the sites on use for research, coming here, CNN or other stuff.  If some egghead at Microsoft wants to sit in his cubicle and chide me for using Rotoworld instead of Rotowire, I am OK with that.  LOL
Add blocker is your friend.  Have another FF addon for FB, no adds.  Most browsers will let you surf anonymously.  OK, while I am at it, get last pass, that thing completely and utterly rocks.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EJQ8OR2?psc=1  I want that toaster.  I make my own homemade bread, so the slices are large.  :P  My deposit hits on Tuesday.  So post me some notes at -3% 9+ months old with YTM over 16%, and I will buy you a toaster.  :P
