Does this 24hr consistent [symmetrized] pattern strike anyone as funny? The BV one is much more fine in detail and shows the pattern better.

They have always dropped a load of new notes at 4 hour increments, even in the early AM.  At least, that is how it's been since I joined about 2.5 years ago.  The 1AM and 5AM drops have always been very small, but they've been there.  From what I've recall, the drops at 1AM & 5AM (eastern time) are the leftovers from the 1PM and 5PM "whole-loan pool", which are held for 12 hours, and if not purchased, are released to fractional investors.  These early morning bumps look larger than what I recall seeing in the past, so it could be a sign that institutional "whole loans" are either not snapping up as many as they used to, or they are getting much more to choose from and therefore have more leftovers ... or, perhaps LC has just changed the way they are dropping loans to a new 24-hour even increment schedule.

I definitely realized the first part. I thought the symmetry was unusual but after looking it over again I realized with such are large number of loans that the scale makes the bumps less defined.  I look at this stuff daily so it is rare for me to see this symmetry ... but a lot of weird things have happened in my past 1.5 years!
