International students
« on: June 19, 2016, 07:03:35 PM »
Hi all, I just realized that as an international student I'm not actually an U.S. person (non resident alien) although I have a SSN and a US bank account... Is there anyone else on an F1 visa investing in lending club? I think I might have some problems when tax deadline comes but I can't shut down the account simply as I have already around 25k there..

The experiences of anybody else in a similar position who misread the signing in conditions would be appreciated!

Do you meet the IRS "substantial presence test"?

Yes, but F1 visa students are still non residents for tax purposes (for 5 years) even if they meet such requirement...
